What we do
RESCUE & REHABILITATION
We service the conservation needs of the area by providing a refuge for injured and orphaned birds of prey and are committed to rehab and release wherever possible.
Our Guided tours
Join us for a 45min – 1 hour guided tour of our centre where you will learn about our resident birds as well as have the opportunity to see some of them in flight in a tranquil forest setting.
awareness & Education
Our aim is to give the public a window into the important conservation work we do, and to raise awareness through our educational guided tours and flying demonstrations.
How can you help?
There are many ways in which the community and public are able to assist us in making sure our birds of prey are well looked after and the centre is well maintained, If you are interetsed in helping, please get in touch.
Visit Our Centre
Funding for our rehabilitaion facilities is predominantly derived through admission fees to our Awareness centre. By visiting us you are contibuting to the well-being of the birds.
Sponsorship & Donations
We are fortunate to receive donations from family and friends, the community and our affiliates which are used toward making improvements to the centre, maintenance as well as making sure we have funding in our kitty for vetirinary care for the birds. We are also fortunate to have dedicated sponsors for each of our resident birds which ensures they are all well fed throughout the year. If you are interested in sponsoring a bird or donating to this worthy cause, please get in touch.
Visit our Gift & Souvenir shop at the centre where you can browse through our slecetion of hand crafted and locally produced art and products. We source proudly south african products where ever possible and a percentage of the sales goes toward our rehabilitation facilities.
About raptor rescue plett
Raptor Rescue Plettenberg Bay opened in September 2020 taking over the premises and infrastructure and adopting a number of the resident birds from the previous owner, Dennis Robson, from Radical Raptors. Mark Robson gained his experience whilst working for his brother and his passion shines through in his most enjoyable and educational guided tours and through his dedication toward the birds in his care. Mark and his partner, Laura Fotheringham, now run the centre and together continue the conservation work that the centre has become so well known for over the the years of its operation at the Heath Complex.

What a lovely place to teach the kids about wild birds and how we need to protect them. The show was amazing and the guide was a hoot 🦉
